not to mention not allocating 3A to the rectangle to save these many gigabytes and spinning up the CPU to have a filesystem to have how to save and compress them and. truly an insane take

nah, it's a direct import of https://github.com/illumos/illumos-gate/commit/215198a6ad15cf4832370e2f19247abeb36b951a#diff-53808c1270136c03b7fccdbf2c91c7fee7a17681b2597153974a2730306d18beR20 from the illumos gate and i guarantee you writing it like this (there's line number arithmetic(!)) took /much/ more time than expressing it normally would've

i mean, my reference gargle for a samsung 1T rectangle said 6W typical 9W burst, looking now, a loose SATA 120G one says 1A, an equivalent PCIe one says 2A, and a long PCIe one says 2.91A, so I overestimated by an amp (but with the link itself and the middleware to handle it, eh)
Replying to @eatijr
comparatively, three loose 2.5" disks say uh 1.1@5V, .7@5V, and 1@5V so they're all actually cheaper to keep running (this probably changes if you actually start/stop them a lot); im actually a little surprised as well, but GiB/s don't come cheap ig

certified autohell moment!
you vs the wyrm she tells you not to worry about
just shaved a minute (2:30 baseline) off full zfs builds and 50 seconds (1:50 baseline) off just the userland, with halved times for all rebuilds lol
Replying to @nabijaczleweli
and because I removed literally 300 autoconf/make files autoreconf takes 14(!) seconds less (52 base) and configure another 10 (1:09 base)
Replying to @nabijaczleweli
sorry, 291

oh, and the distribution tarball (gzip -9ed) is 2.3Mi smaller (34.4Mi base); uncompressed it's 8.7Mi (69.4Mi base) lol

fucking kms, centos 7 automake doesn't have include
Replying to @nabijaczleweli
correction: it doesn't have %reldir% and %canon_reldir% for include paths. according to the NEWS, it's "New in 1.14:".
Replying to @nabijaczleweli
apparently automake is arch=all so installing the CentOS 8 rpm Just Works. not all may yet be lost
Replying to @marcinskarbek
oh, in general I def. agree, in the case of automake, I /really/ wouldn't expect it to be any different from a plain rebuild

the manual says "check box for charge date, do NOT charge if never charged before that date". there's no dates, except a "Produce" one, on the box. how am I on the phone within fifteen minutes of buying new equipment but actual trash Just Works, always

big fan of "even not", like. why would you even make your int'l conference be in the americas, much less the US, on consecutive years. DebConf 2020 and 2021 was in online, 2022 is in kosovo, 2023 is somewhere in india an 2024 is somewhere in israel lol
Replying to @__phantomderp
it's probably cheaper for literally everyone involved, too, and you're not doing it in a reclusive racism empire you need a visa for for no good reason?
Replying to @nabijaczleweli
apparently the max. time to store w/o charging is 6mo and this was manufactured in january so im not gonna care. support was useless, of course

beeps appx. 1/min, came apparently 100% charged(!) and reports to be 100% charged at 80-whatever volts, but unplugged drops immediately to 73ish% and 76ishV; unplugged, at 370W load it predicts 90min, but that drops at appx. 1min/4-6sec.

cruelty squad, obviously, but im missing how ultrakill's zoomer?
Replying to @greenTetra_
ultrakill is, tonally and mechanically, like, a core movement shooter (not necessarily unlike ghostrunner except good), and doesn't appeal to zoomer sensibilities. vomitoreum may be closer maybe? but whatever the video is def. strikes gold

unfortunately, for IPv6 this is, AFAICT, a linked list of deduplicated fib6_nodes (8-9x pointer size), so there's no /hard/ limit; they're counted in u32 fib_rt_entries, so at 300+GB of kernel address space you're overflowing procfs statistics but it should keep working
apex is still a broken piece of shit and does /not/ go any fullscreen on non-primary monitors.. but im still kinda slick with it doe

marketing says PPS and the mfr site shows a window that says it's configurable to .02V but the firmware bundle I have doesn't seem to activate that text box (and has just a range of the common 5-20V voltages). I know @the6p4c was playing with it so they may well have something
