So, it happened again.
And by "it" I mean the CPU whining it's too hot a couple hours into a multiple-hour unpausable render forcing me to take off the side panel to make it not cook.
So it's finally time to solve the issue once and for all.
Replying to @nabijaczleweli
Okay, well, to solve that properly would be to build a new computer, which costs money, so lol
The next-properest solution would be to get a non-stock heatsink on the CPU, which would definitely help a lot
(pictured: my incredible lightning setup)
Replying to @nabijaczleweli
were it not for the absolute lack of airflow there, the SYS_FANs seem to be choking their last breath spinning about as fast as a ceiling fan in a western, and the scorching-hot backplane (the front is surprisingly cool) of the GPU ensnares the hot pocket along the CPU assembly
Replying to @nabijaczleweli
so the plan is threefold:
* replace the SYS_FANs
* punch a hole in the side panel and stick a fan there, too
* possibly just replace some sexion of the panel with some acrylic to facilitate forming vent holes easier
* get some sleep I've been awake for 35 hours help
