I feel like WSL's really over the top here, tbf. What's wrong with msys2's linuxy environment/bash&friends? I've been using it for the last couple of years and it's honestly a bit too seamless sometimes (esp. when I've to use people's pure-Win env).

It just occurred to me: this very same argument is being used for over a hundred years – first occurence I know of was by Boy-Żeleński (Polish columnist mainly active in the Interwar period) mainly WRT Galician policies.
