After allowing the "ink" to permeate the pen, the colours are less faint at around t=0 and therefore visible enough to be read. The ink seems too viscous(?) to really flow well, though.

Pictured left: the now-browish underline was made 10 hours ago with the KMnO₄ solution. One can feel the pattern on the paper with their fingertip, be it due to the paper deteriorating or the KMnO₄ crystallising out.

Replying to @Wareya
consider: are you bad at Python or is Python bad at being a programming language?
Replying to @Wareya
But can one *be* bad at Python, a programming language so bad at being a programming language it unironically has significant whitespace?
Replying to @Wareya
Also consider: just because you'ven't used the most optimal/good (how do you define "good"? there sure as hell is no universal heuristic) method doesn't mean the code is bad – suboptimal but readable and understandable code is oft-superiour to overoptimised spaghetti.
Replying to @Wareya
Does that code work? (yes!) Can you understand how and modify it to work differently? (of course! you just wrote it) ⇒ It's good.
There's "better" (i.e. other, grass is greener) ways to solve the problem? Of course, but that's inherent in mathematics.
Replying to @Wareya
Classic balance of effort over returns. Porting Normal Languages™ to Python is a shitton of work. Dict-typing is meh but this is not prod code so it doesn't matter. Performance-wise: does it complete w/e it's doing on the second timescale? Probably does, so it doesn't matter.
Replying to @Wareya
I've said that way too many times to myself before. "Oh it's just doing *trivial operation on built-in types*." Cue fucking hours of bullshit and non-overlaps in stdlibs and off-by-ones (henlo length- vs idx- based string APIs). It's never a 1:1 process and it's always a big pain
Replying to @Wareya
In a similar vein:- number algos. You'd think it's just numbers, right? How can you fuck up numbers? Well, no programming language's concept of numbers matches any other's. Brought to you by at least 50 hours of porting quirc.
Replying to @Wareya
Sometimes (most times) it's just not worth the effort. Does it work? Great. Will it always work? No. When's the time to rewrite it? When it breaks horribly. Does it matter until then? Nah.
Replying to @Wareya
Point is:– your code can explicitly not be *bad* if it works. Anyone who can wrestle a computer into doing what they want is pretty good at their shit.

I'd use impersonal (because humanity is not a person) – "it's reconed" or, if I want to identify with whoever's listening use "we recon". "They" in this context sounds like you're opposing yourself to whoever's reconing (or you're calquing from Russian).
